Brilliant Energy is no longer operating as a Retail Electric Provider (REP) in Texas.
Brilliant Energy was a Houston-based retail electric provider (REP) that launched in 2007.
Before leaving the Texas electricity market, the company served residential and commercial customers across deregulated areas of the state. Like other retail electric providers in Texas, Brilliant Energy purchased electricity through wholesale markets and sold electricity plans directly to consumers.
Brilliant Energy stood out for its involvement in local community and animal welfare efforts. The company supported animal shelters and nonprofit organizations through food drives, pet photo contests, and partnerships with groups such as the Spay-Neuter Assistance Program, Inc.
One of its more distinctive offerings was the Brilliant PetLovers Electricity Plan. Through that program, a portion of the proceeds were donated to local animal shelters at no extra cost to participating customers.
Brilliant Energy also ran customer referral programs and seasonal promotions that rewarded customers while supporting community engagement initiatives.
